S Yesudas is back within the Lintas' network as Business Advisor (Director), Initiative Worldwide. His last assignment was with the Scan Group of companies (a group with IPG's business interest) in East Africa, with his base at Nairobi. He joined the group soon after his exit from Lintas Group, India. Yesudas had to terminate the contract after a short stint of seven months due to personal reasons.
He has already started taking responsibilities of multi client businesses in the capacity of Business Advisor (Director) with Initiative Worldwide at its Jakarta office.
In a conversation with exchange4media, Yesudas said, "Yes I am very happy about this. Fortunately, I had two international jobs to choose from as soon as I reached India from Nairobi. My vote went in favour of Initiative Worldwide, Jakarta for various reasons."
About the African experience, he said, "It was certainly a good learning. I had dual responsibility, one with Media Initiative (a media company) as its Regional Director, and another with Draft Worldwide (a experiential marketing company) as its Managing Director. Within a short span of six months, there are some achievements that the teams in both the companies can be proud of. Some things worth mentioning are, paving the way for the piece of Coca-Cola media business in 14 more countries, South African Tourism media business in Kenya, changes in the media research landscape and for Draft, implementation of the first-ever supermarket advertising project, co-owned by the supermarket chain, Nakumatt and Draft. It was really tough making the decision to depart"
Bharat Thakrar, Group CEO, ScanGroup, holding company for Lowe Scanad, McCann Kenya, Media Initiative East Africa and Draft Worldwide East Africa, said, "Yesudas is an asset to any organisation. It is unfortunate that he decided to depart from the group. Our doors will always be open for him"
Prior to the ScanGroup stint, Yesudas has held important positions within the Initiative framework as ex-EVP of Initiative and head of Insight.
