McCann Erickson has appointed Sandip Mahapatra as VP and Head of Planning of its Delhi office, to fill in the gap left by the exit of Arvind Mohan.
Mahapatra carries with him 18 years of experience, including his recent stint at TBWA as the Executive Director, Strategic Planning. He has also been the Head of Planning and Consumer Insights at McCann Worldgroup, Indonesia, and instrumental in setting up and running a dedicated consumer insights team.
“This is a significantly different McCann from the one I used to know–it used to be about demonstrating potential energy; today that manifestation is in kinetic energy–the world will watch how fast and how far it can run,” is how Mahapatra, who was one of the first planners to join McCann at the inception in 1996, describes his earlier stint and the present agency.
