Rukin Kizilbash, GM, Taj TV India (Ten Sports) has put in his papers after having served with the channel since its inception. Part of the launch team of Ten Sports in India, Kizilbash had joined in April 2002 as National Head of Ad Sales and was instrumental in achieving historic advertising revenues for the India tours of Pakistan (2004 and 2006).
In May 2007, he was elevated to General Manager, India operations, and immediately took over the responsibilities for distribution, marketing and finance, along with Ad Sales.
On Kizilbash’s movement, Peter Hutton, COO, Taj TV Ltd, the company that owns and operates Ten Sports channel in Dubai, said, “Rukin will be missed both personally and professionally. He has not only guided us to some remarkable successes in terms of the revenue raised over the years, but has also used his 15 years of experience in the industry to develop and guide those around him. One of the core team that helped launch the channel, it is understandable that after eight years he is looking for fresh challenges, and we wish him all the best for the future.”
When queried as to his next move, Kizilbash refused to divulges much besides saying, “all will be made clear soon”. Unconfirmed sources said that it was within the sports media space, however, no further details are currently available.
