Rodger Beekman appointed CCO of Havas Worldwide Netherlands

Rodger Beekman has been appointed as the new Chief Creative Officer of Havas Worldwide Amsterdam effective 1 July, after the departure of the creative directors in April 2013. This was announced by Rob van Beek, CEO of Havas Worldwide Netherlands.

Beekman moves from 60 layers of cake, where he held that same position for the offices in Amsterdam and Cape Town during the past seven years. He also worked for some time in Moscow. He was earlier Creative Director at FHV/BBDO and BSUR, and has worked at DDB, TBWA and Y&R, among other agencies.

Commenting on Beekman’s appointment, Rob van Beek said, “Rodger is the powerhouse I was looking for. He thinks in terms of integrated solutions rather than media solutions. That makes him a creative with a business vision. Rodger will enable us to play a more important role in our own network again, at the international level. Rodger will join me on the Dutch management board.”

On his new role, Beekman said, “Since my departure from BSUR seven years ago, I have increasingly believed in the ‘collaborative’ vision of the profession. That was the inspiration behind 60 layers of cake. Through a project with Havas Worldwide in Moscow, I discovered the strength of the Havas network, which essentially has the same collaborative core.”
