RMG Connect beefs up team with four new appointments

RMG Connect, JWT partner and an agency specialising in the CRM and activation space, has expanded its talent pool by drawing in some key whiz kids from Tribal DDB. With this, the JWT digital SBU has strengthened its leadership in the interactive space, in developing direct and digital solutions for real business impact. While Rajeev Sharma has joined RMG Connect as VP and Head Digital, Kamlesh Mehta has been appointed as Senior Creative Director. Anis Budye joins as Creative Director, while Zeenia Mehta is Creative Supervisor. The additions follow the first appointment of Meera Sharath Chandra as President & National Creative Director two months ago.

Commenting on the new development, Chandra said, “We are not among those who pay lip service to this powerful medium. We are digital natives, we live and breathe the space. I know I am working with the A team in cyber space, it’s also a team I nurtured and trained personally.”

Chandra is happy that mobile arena is yet another area where RMG Connect has made great headway. “We have several tie-ups that give us access to many proprietary applications on the mobile and have had the advantage of delivering unique mobile-based brand solutions to our clients. If you are a thoroughbred in the web sphere, you can see the possibilities of the mobile, create inter-device differentials for your clients and do so more than just set up a community online,” she added.

JWT Worldwide President Michael Maedel said, “We will have the most powerful digital offering in India and are among the leaders worldwide. This is the team that is the most globally awarded with the maximum international jury representation. Its experience is not just on national brands and clients, but international ones who make a lot more demands on tech-knowledge and facility with the medium.”

Colvyn Harris, CEO, JWT India, said, “RMG Connect has always had an edge in the direct, digital and activation arenas because of a huge commitment and massive investment in an Oracle 11i suite for holistic CRM solutions. This concerted effort and investment in digital only goes to show that we take the relationship management aspect of brand engagement extremely seriously. Our CRM offering, ‘Connexions’, will always be the backbone of everything we do, seamlessly building in data mining into every single piece of communication.”

Rajeev Sharma, who has joined as VP and Head Digital, has an aggressive mandate not just on business but on evangelising the space and leading the way to realisation that this is indeed the centrepiece of brand communication in the future. A regular Effie judge, he brings a unique perspective to every digital brief.

Kamlesh Mehta, Anis Budye and Zeenia Mehta believe that being up-to-speed in the cyber realm is mandatory in the months to come. It’s all about touch-points and how to manage and engage a customer at various levels at various points of contact.

Winners of several awards and accolades over the past years, this is the team that swept the Asia Pacific AdFest and the international Webbys, and did Indian talent proud at Cannes and Goa. As member of the international jury at One Show and Clio last year and Art Directors Club, New York Fest, Clio and the IAC Web Awards this year, Chandra believes that moving with technology and being one jump ahead of the rest are table stakes now.

She added, “After all, we own the two most powerful words in our business – Relationship and Connect. And those are the two pivots around which the customer engagement model revolves. Every tie-up, every potential acquisition and every strategic alliance is judged against these touchstones.”
