Rediffusion Y&R instates design unit; ropes in new Business Head-Design

Close on the heels of appointing Karl Gomes as Head of Digital, Rediffusion Y&R is now looking to strengthening its design unit. The agency has brought in Siddhartha Singh as Business Head - Design. Singh, who will be based in Mumbai, will be reporting to Nisha Singhania, EVP, Rediffusion Y&R Mumbai.

Singh brings in 12 years of experience in advertising. Prior to Rediffusion Y&R, he was with Publicis Ambience as Associate Vice President - Account Management. Before that he was associated with Leo Burnett India as Assistant Account Executive – Client Servicing.

On his new role, Singh informed exchange4media, “The design unit at Rediffusion Y&R is more of a strategic intent of not just having fancy art, but fancy art backed by science. I am heading the business part of the unit while Kalpita Bose heads the creative side.”

Bose added that he would be overlooking the businesses for the western region, but as and when the need arose, he would lend his expertise to the Bangalore and Chennai businesses as well.

The agency is currently looking at a new name for the unit, however, no decision has been arrived at yet. The unit has in the past worked on some of the projects, including designing the logo for Hindi general entertainment channel Colors. The unit also played an integral role in the designing of the collaterals for The Gateway Hotels.
