Speculations are rife about Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar putting in his papers at Rediffusion Y&R as Chief Creative Officer. He is reportedly on his way to Bates 141 as its new National Creative Director. Bates 141 had been on the lookout for an NCD for some time now.
When contacted, Mahableshwarkar was tightlipped about any such movement. Despite repeated attempts, officials from neither Rediffusion Y&R nor Bates 141 were available for comments.
However, industry sources have confirmed Mahableshwarkar’s new role. If the sources are to be believed, Bates 141 was reportedly working vigorously on the Virgin Mobile GSM launch and planned a revamp of sorts and hence, were on the lookout for a creative director who had been associated with the telecom sector to a great extent. Thus, Mahabaleshwarkar is said to fit the bill.
Mahabaleshwarkar had started his advertising career with O&M Bangalore. He moved to Ogilvy Mumbai after a short while. In his 14-year stint, he has won numerous awards at national and international levels, working with the likes of Piyush Pandey and Sonal Dabral. Post O&M, he joined, Rediffusion Y&R in 2007 as Chief Creative Officer, partnering Ramanuj Shastry.
