Rediffusion Y&R’s Ramanuj Shastry likely to join Saatchi & Saatchi

In 2007, Rediffusion Y&R had introduced the dual Chief Creative Officer (CCO) structure with Ramanuj Shastry and Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar heading the creative business of the agency. After a stint of more than two years, Shastry has bid adieu to the agency.

Mahesh Chauhan, Group CEO, Rediffusion Y&R, has confirmed Shastry’s movement added that Mahableshwarkar would be the sole CCO and that there were no plans to get another talent to partner Mahabaleshwarkar.

When contacted, Shastry declined to divulge any details of his next destination. However, according to industry sources it is understood that Shastry would be soon joining Saatchi & Saatchi India, taking on the role of National Creative Director. The position had been lying vacant since Ramesh Ramanathan had quit the agency more than a year ago.

Prior to Rediffusion Y&R, Shastry was with Publicis Ambience as NCD, and before that, he was associated with McCann Erickson, where he was Senior Creative Director, and O&M.

It may be recalled that recently, Saatchi & Saatchi had also appointed Sourabh Mishra, formerly of TBWA, as National Strategy Director.
