Ravi Krishnan returns to IMG India’s fold

Ravi Krishnan, Vice Chairman of IPL’s Rajasthan Royals franchise, is believed to be moving back to his former role of Managing Director at IMG India. Krishnan moves back to IMG India after two years. He had earlier spent over 11 years with IMG South Asia, based in India.

Despite various attempts, Krishnan could not be contacted for comments. However, industry sources have confirmed the development.

At Rajasthan Royals, Krishnan had played an advisory role to the franchise in structuring the business for commercial, operational and on-field success. Besides, Rajasthan Royals, Krishnan was also associated with Abler Advisory Pvt Ltd, an investment advisory focused principally on private equity in real estate.

Krishnan had put in his papers at IMG India in April 2006. However, he continued his involvement with IMG as an Advisor for sports, fashion and entertainment.

A lawyer by training, Krishnan was part of a four-member team that was sent in 1995 to set up IMG’s operations in India. During his tenure there, IMG created properties such as the Chennai Open, India’s only ATP event, the Lakme India Fashion Week, and then the Lakme Fashion Week.
