Ramesh Chandran joins AD’s World as Country Head-Strategic Alliance

Out-Of-Home agency AD’s World has recently added one more member to its team. The company has appointed Ramesh Chandran as Country Head-Strategic Alliance.

Commenting on his appointment, AD’s World Founder and CEO Ajay Dhawan said, “We are growing at a rate of 50 per cent year and needed a thorough professional with an all-round wisdom of dealing with clients, media owners, media agencies and most importantly, with OOH partners, with equal ease. Ramesh, with over two decades of experience in the advertising industry, is a fantastic fit who has the immediate challenge of streamlining our operations and enabling us to achieve triple digit growth and enhance customer delight.”

Speaking of Chandran’s mandate, Dhawan said, “Many agencies do not have an OOH outfit and some are quite averse to getting into the medium. Given our experience in the space, Ramesh’s mandate would be forging strategic tieups with such agencies and working with them as partners rather than as vendors.”

Chandran started his career in 1983 at Lintas. He was part of the three successful startup teams at Euro RSCG and MPG and has worked with FCB Ulka, Everest and Carat. He has around 23 years of experience and has also dabbled in ad films at Apocalypse Filmworks.

Commenting on his move to OOH, Chandran said, “My specialisation has been media buying and to a large extent, this has become a frontline function in a media agency and involved constant interaction with the client as well. However, I have never worked in new business development function and this is a challenge. What made me join AD’s is their depth of knowledge, understanding of the medium and their transparency in dealing with all stakeholders. They are not just into static medium as most of the agencies are, but also provide a complete solution in the last mile. This is going to be my next learning curve.”
