Following the exit of Prakash Dharmarajan, Ogilvy & Mather has moved Ramamoorthi to head its Chennai branch as President. Ramamoorthi was heading the IBM business at the agency’s Bangalore office prior to his new assignment.

This is Ramamoorthi’s second stint with Ogilvy Chennai. Earlier, he had a decade-long stint with the agency’s Chennai office from 1997 to 2007.

Speaking about his mandate, Ramamoorthi said, “Nationally, we carry a huge responsibility. We are the leading agency with a certain reputation and the mandate is to keep that reputation intact.”

He further said, “Working with a brand like IBM has been a very exciting experience and I have learnt a lot from it. This knowledge will drive me in this new stint.”

Ramamoorthi had started his career with RK Swamy BBDO in 1992. He was with the agency for five years (until 1997) before moving to Ogilvy Chennai.
