Rakshit Hangal, who closed down his business venture, ME Marketing, a month ago, has joined Showdiff Worldwide as Chief Operating Officer. Showdiff, which belongs to the Rediffusion group, was set up in association with former cricketer Ravi Shastri to promote and market talent in diverse fields, including sports, through endorsements as well as organising events.
Showdiff’s services span the broad spectrum of fashion, films, sport, music, art and literature. The company helps new talent in exploring their true potential in the marketing and advertising world.
Commenting on his new appointment, Hangal said, “I am excited about joining Showdiff Worldwide as COO. My role will involve handling the entire spectrum of celebrity and sports management. I joined because I feel there is a lot of challenge, exposure and growth with Showdiff.”
Asked about why he closed down ME Marketing, Hangal candidly replied, “I closed it last month because our main focus, which was in-film advertising and marketing for entertainment, was not doing so well.”
Prior to his own venture, Hangal was with 360 Degrees Entertainment (part of the Times Group) as AVP, North India, for four years. A 12-year industry veteran, Hangal has also worked with event management company Wizcraft, where he headed the Chennai branch for five years.
