Rakesh Gopal joins Businessworld as Director, Sales & Marketing

Businessworld has appointed Rakesh Gopal as Director, Sales and Marketing. He joins in from Diligent Media Corporation (DNA), where he was Vice-President. Gopal brings on board over 20 years of rich experience in media sales.

Commenting on Gopal’s appointment, Annurag Batra, Chairman, Businessworld said, “Rakesh is an extremely seasoned professional, with over 20 years of rich experience in media sales, especially in print, and has worked with some of the best brands. We believe he will contribute to Businessworld tremendously.”

Prosenjit Datta, Editor, Businessworld added here, “I am very happy to hear that Rakesh Gopal is joining Businessworld. He has a sterling reputation.”

Prior to Diligent Media, Gopal was with Mogae Media for six months as Senior Vice-President. Before that, he was with Mail Today Newspapers as Head - Delhi, East & South for over three and a half years.

Prior to that, Gopal was with Diligent Media for almost three and a half years, where he worked as General Manager. He was earlier with Hindustan Times as Manager and had worked with the organisation from September 1999 to June 2005. Before that, he was with The Pioneer as Associate Manager. He worked with the paper for almost eight and a half years.
