Rajiv Mishra joins US-based CineMaya Media as COO & President

US-based CineMaya Media Inc has appointed Rajiv Mishra as COO and President of the group. Mishra will be based in Delhi and will be responsible for the entire India operations. He will be reporting to Sunil Hali, Chairman, CineMaya Media Group.

Prior to joining CineMaya, Mishra was CEO, P&M Group, promoted by filmmaker Prakash Jha and Manmohan Shetty promoted. The Group has recently launched Maurya TV in Bihar and Jharkhand.

This is not the first stint that Mishra has had with CineMaya Media. In 2008, he was appointed as Business Head for Broadcast Media at the group and in the same year, he was elevated to Senior Vice President. Mishra had left CineMaya Media in 2009.

On Mishra’s appointment, Hali said, “Rajiv Mishra is back again and as CineMaya Media Group is in expansion mode, he will be of great help in achieving our targets.”

Speaking to exchange4media, Mishra said, “CineMaya Media Group is in expansion mode and my priorities will be to take the Group to the next level.”

CineMaya Media Group markets five newspapers – Indian Express, Divya Bhaskar, Sher `e Punjab, Tamil Times and Telugu Times in Canada and the US. It broadcasts two TV channels (Times Now and PTC Punjabi) in the US and Canada, and manages two radio stations (89.3 and 100.7 FM) in the US.

Mishra has earlier worked with Hindustan Times, Star TV, TV Asia of the US, Reliance Infocomm, and BAG Films. He was also the Founder President of Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI), the FM radio industry representative body of all radio stations in India.

Mishra did his Masters in Broadcasting from International Academy of Broadcasting (IAB), Montreux, Switzerland, MBA in Media Management from Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY), USA, and Graduate Certificate Course in Multi Media from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) USA.
