Rajat Basra, former Business Director, Team LG, GroupM, who put in his papers recently, has joined MPG Delhi as Associate Vice-President. As part of his new assignment, Basra would head the entire buying of MPG Delhi, including Reckitt Benckiser, and will focus on new business development.
Basra will be reporting to Maushami Kar, Vice-President, MPG, and Jeffrey Crasto, President, MPG.
Speaking about his new role, Basra, who has eight years’ experience in the industry, said, “At GroupM, Team LG, I was heading the CE and Mobile business, and was also looking after the electronic buying for LGEIL and LG Inc, which has given me the
grooming and exposure to step into a larger role in MPG.”
Commenting on his stint at GroupM, Team LG, Basra said, “Team LG was a close knit and passionate team and we were working with a client who believed in big ideas and had a futuristic vision, clear thought process, and firm grip on market and consumer. Working on the LG account has been the high point of my career that has polished me as a professional.”
Basra began his career with Optimedia, where he worked for five years and played a critical part leading the Hewlett Packard business as Supervisor. After that he moved to Starcom as Associate Group Head, where he had worked on the Sony business for a year before joining GroupM, Team LG for two years.
