Raj TV ropes in Mala Manian as COO

Mala Manian, former CEO of Seventh Channel Communications, has been appointed as COO of Raj Television Network. Manian was associated with Seventh Channel Communications, a pioneer production house for television programmes in Chennai, for nearly 25 years and was one of the first non-DD anchors for a private production house.

Manian had quit Seventh Channel recently to do something on her own when she was approached by Raj TV. Speaking about her mandate in Raj Television Network, she said, “I am someone who never believed in designations. Being a kind of team player, I feel comfortable working with all the teams, be it technical or content.”

On her new role, Manian said, “I am actually looking into the complete content of Raj TV in order put the channel on a higher platform. I am also trying to revamp the whole channel in terms of content and quality.”

She further said that it was a Herculean job, but she did not want to shy away from it. “According to me nothing is impossible. Some of the content that we are currently offering is good and some may not be good in terms of presentation. I think, even the good content needs to be presented in a far better way, and that is what I am looking at straight away,” she added.
