Rahul Dev moves out of CNEB; joins Aaj Samaj as Editor-in-Chief

Rahul Dev has put in his papers at Hindi news channel CNEB as Editor-in-Chief and CEO. He has joined Aaj Samaj as Editor-in-Chief, where he will be taking care of both the newspaper and magazine domains.

It may be recalled that Dev had joined CNEB in September 2008, a few months after the channel’s launch. Speaking on the journey with CNEB, Dev said, “My stint with the group has been rewarding, educative, and by and large satisfactory.”

Dev has been a prominent face of television news. When asked what had prompted him to join the print domain after spending so many years in television, he replied, “Before joining the TV domain, I had served in print for many years. Hence, print has always been close to my heart. This was a good opportunity for me and I decided to opt for it.”

Speaking on the goal that he had set before joining the print domain, Dev remarked, “Print domain in India is facing unprecedented challenges, especially Hindi and language print. It needs innovative thinking and vision; quality and interesting content, which can attract more and more readers. Keeping all these challenges in mind, I would like to try my hand in print.”

Dev has more than 30 years’ experience in print and television. He has been Editor of Jansatta. In television, he has been associated with Aaj Tak, Doordarshan, Zee News and Janmat.
