Raghu Iyer has joined Emerging Media as Chief Marketing Officer. He will be focussing on building the Emerging Media brand as a leading content provider catering to the fast growing Indian TV market. His last assignment was as Director, Advertising Sales with Discovery Channel Mumbai, where he spent five years.
Commenting on his new appointment, Iyer said, “I am extremely happy about joining this new media initiative and hope to play a significant role in building the business. I am especially excited about ‘Cricket Star’, the unique cricket talent hunt concept recently acquired by Emerging Media, which has generated a lot of interest across the globe. I am also looking forward to the launch of ‘Soccer Star’ in partnership with the Liverpool Football Club and AIFF, besides developing some exciting entertainment shows to be launched over the next one year.”
Emerging Media is a media property development business, which launched its first property ‘Cricket Star’ in early 2007 and became the first major simulcast reality show on Doordarshan and the Zee network. Headquartered in the UK, Emerging Media recently acquired Investors in Cricket and is using their considerable network and expertise to see existing properties, like ‘Cricket Star’, become bigger and better.
