Radio Mirchi, Bangalore ropes in Amit Satpathy as Station Director

Amit Satpathy has been appointed the new Station Director of Radio Mirchi, Bangalore. He will be responsible for all operations related activities such as sales, marketing, finance, programming initiatives, technical and HR besides the FM major’s expansion plans. Prior to his new assignment, Satpathy was Head of Reliance Infocomm’s Mumbai circle.

Commenting on his new appointment, Satpathy said, “I come from a new economy background. As far as the radio industry is concerned, lots of things are done manually despite the fact that it is an age-old device. I look forward to automation of the whole process and would explore the possibility of alternative revenue sources.”

Satpathy began his career with Datapro InfoWorld Ltd. His decade-long career consists of key managerial position with well-known organisations such as Mahindra British Telecom and Bharti Cellular Ltd.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Marketing. He is also trained in Quality, Value Marketing and Response Management Systems.

Radio Mirchi 93.3 FM Bangalore, part of the Entertainment Network (India) Ltd, was launched in April 2006. The FM channel is operational in 10 cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, Indore, Ahmedabad and Pune.

Radio Mirchi is seriously mulling on marathon expansion plans and will shortly be operational in 22 more cities.
