Pyramid Saimira appoints Satish Shukla as CEO of Saimira Access Technologies

Pyramid Saimira Group has announced the appointment Col. Satish Shukla as Chief Executive Officer for its associate group company, Saimira Access Technologies Ltd (SAT). SAT focuses on the Group’s DTH and HITS foray.

Speaking on Shukla’s appointment, PS Saminathan, Group Chairman, Pyramid Saimira, said, “Col Satish’s strength lies in his ability to understand technology thoroughly and drive its effective commercial application. His immense knowledge of access network, content and its distribution mechanism, across different platforms, has made him the right choice to drive Saimira Access Technologies. Saimira had brought the concept of digital cable in India when it was in its infancy and Col Satish will refocus on our various last-mile access platform, given the huge content library and cross platform strength the Group company is building.”

Shukla’s key responsibilities at SAT would include managing the DTH / HITS foray of the Group and also creating multiple and emerging exploitation methodologies of content across various platforms, creating a robust organisation structure, enabling structured process and strong methodologies, chalking out the road map for the business model to enter multiple activities like commencing various Indian regional channels, starting Chinese channels with focus on non-Chinese locations, and Japanese content agglomeration, to name a few.

Prior to joining Pyramid Saimira, Shukla had held various senior positions with several cable TV operators, including Incable, Hathway, Trinity and HFCL Infotel Ltd.

He began his career with the Indian Army and retired in the capacity of Colonel after 21 years, with an exposure spanning across varied terrains and operational conditions. He was highly instrumental in introducing electronic data processing in combat and in training units. He was also involved in the creation of a sports establishment, which focused on the recruitment and training of potential Olympians.
