Neo Sports Broadcast Pvt Ltd has promoted Prasana Krishnan to Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect. Prior to the elevation, Krishnan was involved in various functions, including strategy and business development, corporate and acquisitions amongst others.
Commenting on the development, Harish Thawani, Chairman, Neo Sports, said, “Krishnan’s elevation is an eloquent testimony of internal management depth at Neo. In him we have an outstanding young leader with a strong understanding of global markets, the sports industry and excellent leadership qualities – a combination which will play an integral role in leading Neo into the next phase of the network’s evolution.”
Krishnan said, “It has been fantastic building 2008’s No. 1 sports channel Neo Cricket, and my mission for 2009 is to consolidate the No. 1 position for Neo Cricket and increase the audience share for our second channel, Neo Sports.”
Neo Sports Broadcast owns and operates two channels – 24x7 cricket entertainment channel Neo Cricket, and all sports channel Neo Sports. As per TAM, Neo Cricket was the No. 1 sports channel in India in 2008.
Krishnan is a graduate from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He also has a Masters degree in Finance & Control from the Delhi University. He began his career as a Senior Investment Analyst with the Economic Times. At 36, Prasana Krishnan has a 13-year career span across the media and consulting sectors. His previous assignments include Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd and Arthur Andersen.
