Pralay Bakshi to take over as Station Head of Fever FM Kolkata

Pralay Bakshi has been appointed as Station Head for Fever FM Kolkata. He is replacing Alok Singh. Bakshi would be taking charge from July 1. He has been Programming Head, Fever FM Delhi so far.

Commenting on his new assignment, Bakshi said “Kolkata is a changing city. The old perception of this city is fast changing. There is a lot of new blood coming in, and the transformation is already on. Business wise, I think it is going to be an exciting market. I am quite excited about my new assignment. While I have been in different work areas, for me it is very exciting to use my other abilities and getting to paint on a much bigger canvas.”

On the content and programming, Bakshi said, “We are the harbingers in format radio. We don’t believe in day parting the audience. We have successful stations in Delhi and Mumbai. We will do some local twigs in Hindi and Bengali for the Kolkata audience. Once we have the music in place, we have the bells and whistles, and we add them in measured doses. Everything we do other than music is to enhance it rather than dilute it.”

Bakshi is a chemical engineer from IIT Mumbai, with a PG Diploma in Business Studies from the London School of Economics. He also holds an MA in Media Communication & Culture from the University of London. His radio experience ranges from having worked with Radio City in Mumbai, Radio 4 in the UAE, Kismat Radio, Sunrise Radio to BBC Radio, Cleveland. He has worked as an RJ, done commercial production, voice-overs, scripting, and also composed and produced songs. He also has experience working as Editor and Columnist with JAM magazine, Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Vinay Manek will be the new Programming Head for Fever FM’s Delhi operations. He was part of the central programming team and was also heading the national alliances.
