Prakash Iyer quits as Infomedia CEO

Prakash Iyer has put in his papers as CEO of Infomedia18 Ltd after nearly five years with the company. Iyer had joined Infomedia in August 2004, prior to which he was Regional Vice President with Pepsi China. Infomedia (earlier known as Tata Infomedia) is a Yellow Pages and special interest publication company that was acquired by ICICI Venture Fund Management Company in a management buyout in 2003.

Confirming the news of his movement to exchange4media, Iyer said, “I had a fairly long and fruitful stay here, and now it is time to move on.” He, however, did not disclose his next destination.

A 20-year veteran in marketing and brand creation, Iyer’s experience spans tenures at Hindustan Unilevers, followed by a stint in the Middle East.

Infomedia is a B2B magazine publisher with titles such as ‘Chip’, ‘Better Interiors’, ‘Overdrive’ and ‘Better Photography’. TV18 is the majority stakeholder in Infomedia. In December 2007, TV18 acquired a controlling stake in Infomedia from an ICICI Venture-managed fund and followed it up with an open offer. Currently, TV18 holds 65.76 per cent stake in Infomedia.
