Pradeep Gairola quits Mid-Day, joins Anandabazar Patrika as GM, West

Pradeep Gairola, Head, Branches and International Operations, Mid-Day, Mumbai, has resigned and is joining Anandabazar Patrika as General Manager, Western Region, on Thursday. He was with Mid-Day for three and a half years.

About his stint in Mid-Day, he said, “It was a learning experience and we saw a lot of constructive changes happening in the company. When I joined Mid-Day, I was given the task of changing the culture of the organisation. Tariq Ansari’s (Mid-Day’s Managing Director) brief was to make the corporate culture fresh and aggressive. This was a huge responsibility and I am happy to have achieved it.”

Gairola was responsible for setting up the branch network of Mid-Day. “When I joined Mid-Day there were only seven or eight branches; today there are 20. My job was to take care of all branches except Mumbai. I was also involved in looking after the international operations,” he said.

Referring to his role in ABP, Deepankar Banerjee, VP, HR, said, “Gairola will be boosting the ad sales for the ABP group’s magazines and dailies in the Western region.”

On his new assignment, Gairola said, “I am excited about joining a strong brand like ABP. I believe that I have people skills and have been in the business for 13 years and so will be able to contribute to ABP.”
