Anita Trehan, who quit the India Today Group around five months ago, joined Genpact as VP-Corporate Communications on November 7. At India Today, she was GM-Corporate Communications. She succeeds Paroma Chowdhury, who has chosen to pursue other interests.
Commenting on the appointment, David Jensen, Genpact’s Senior Vice-President, Communications and Investor Relations, said, “Anita brings a wealth of outstanding corporate communications experience to Genpact. We are pleased and excited to have her as our head of communications, especially as Genpact prepares for growth and expansion in the coming months. She will be a superb ambassador for our company.”
Trehan has been in corporate communications for 15 years. She was Marketing Communications Manager for the Oberois in New Delhi, and then became Marketing & Communications Director for Andersen in India, which later became Ernst & Young.
From Ernst & Young, Trehan moved to the media industry, serving as General Manager, Marketing, for the Indian Express Group. In October 2004 she joined the India Today Group as GM-Corporate Communications, where she was responsible for corporate relations, media relations, internal communications, CEO communications, and major events, such as the India Today Conclave.
Speaking on her joining Genpact, which was recently rated as the third best company to work for in India by the BT-Mercer-TNS survey, Trehan said, “I am excited to join Genpact and looking forward to the challenge of working in a world-class organisation.”
