Piramyd Retail appoints Vishal Mirchandani as CEO of Lifestyle Division

Piramyd Retail Ltd, part of the diversified Ashok Piramal Group, has appointed Vishal Mirchandani as CEO of their Lifestyle Division. Mirchandani, who will be based in Mumbai, has 18 years’ experience in the industry. He was earlier working with Mudra Garments as Brand Director and SBU Head of Allen Solly.

Under Mirchandani’s leadership, Piramyd plans to have about 30 stores operational within three years, covering a retail area of close to two million square feet to ensure a pan India footprint. Apart from retail expansion, he would also focus on increasing the group’s fashion quotient through its Private Labels and re-engineering its successful loyalty programme ‘Piramyd Power Club.’

Mirchandani has also worked with Shoppers’ Stop as Head of Private Label and Men’s Division, where he was successful in building the business of Provogue from being a fashion brand to being a fashion retail brand. His efforts helped the company in growing its enterprise value multifold and set the basis for its IPO. He was also instrumental in the JDA implementation at Shoppers’ Stop.

Allen Solly has won many awards and accolades under Mirchandani’s leadership. ‘IFA Most Admired Brand – Smart Casuals,’ is one of such award. The brand then went on to achieve the status of a ‘Super Brand’ in 2005.
