Pavan Chandra quits VivaKi, joins Mogae

Pavan Chandra, Head of VivaKi Nerve Centre, India, has joined Mogae Media as Chief ‘Incelligence’ Officer. Chandra’s experience lies in deploying tools and technologies for tracking and measuring media habits, which is why his domain at Mogae will be ‘Incelligence’, intelligence derived from cellular usage.

Mogae Media is the mobile monetisation venture launched recently by Sandeep Goyal, former JV partner of Dentsu in India. Mogae Media is the sole and exclusive partner of Airtel for marketing its entire advertising inventory.

“Pavan is a dreamer and a doer. As an evangelist for a new medium, he has just the right mindset and experience,” said Mogae Media Chief Business Officer Gaurav Luthra, with whom Pavan will partner.

Chandra began his career with The Times of India selling space in magazines like Dharmayug and Femina. From there he moved to directing and producing ad-films, before joining JWT in the media planning department, working on clients like Pepsi, Nestle and GSK. He has now been in the business of advertising for 24 years.

Post JWT, he worked across diverse markets – Singapore, Jordan, Taiwan and Hong Kong – in media planning in various positions with agencies like DY&R, Initiative, Mindshare, McCann Erickson and ZenithOptimedia. Prior to joining Mogae Media, he had set up the VivaKi Nerve Centre in India.

“2012 will be the Year of the Mobile,” Chandra said, adding, “The versatility of the medium, the customer knowledge and the pinpointed targeting makes mobile a medium that will create its own space in clients’ marketing plans. We are here to make it happen.”
