Pavan Chandra elevated as MD for ZenithOptimedia’s West and South regions

ZenithOptimedia India has promoted Pavan Chandra to Managing Director for West and South. He is relocating to Mumbai for the new role. Chandra will also continue with his current responsibilities as Chief Strategy Officer, overseeing strategic resources and Zed Digital.

Chandra is taking over the reins from Rabe Iyer, who has moved on to take a new challenge in Reliance and was earlier responsible for ZenithOptimedia’s operations in West and South India.

Commenting on this shift, Ambika Srivastava, CEO, ZenithOptimedia India, said, “Pavan has been with ZenithOptimedia since 2004 and has contributed to our success with key clients like HP, Hyundai and Nestle. I am confident that Pavan, with his wide experience, will add value that will benefit our clients in Mumbai and Bangalore.”

On his new role, Chandra said, “I am delighted at this new development. I look forward to the prospect of working for the south and west regions. These two regions have got great business potential and ZenithOptimedia hopes to cash in on these opportunities.”

Chandra has been in the industry for over 17 years, and during this time he has worked with leading agencies like JWT, O&M and Lintas (now Lowe), before joining the ZenithOptimedia Group. He also has international experience, having worked across the APAC markets like Singapore and Taiwan.

At ZenithOptimedia, Chandra has been involved in running businesses like HP, Nokia, Nestle and Hyundai, among others. In 2006, he moved to a new role and became in-charge of the Strategic Resources Group. Chandra is a graduate of Delhi University and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. Before starting his career in advertising career in 1990 with HTA (now JWT), he had a variety of stints in computer programming, newspaper sales and film direction.
