Paul Menacherry has joined Creativeland Asia as Executive Creative Director, where he will be based in Kochi and head the company’s South India operations. Menacherry moves from Quadrant, where he was NCD.
Commenting on Menacherry’s appointment, Sajan Raj Kurup, Founder and CCO, Creativeland Asia, said, “Paul is a great human being and a fabulous creative guy. And he is blessed with good business acumen – a combination we really value at Creativeland, necessarily in that order.”
On his new role, Menacherry said, “In my interactions with Creativeland Asia, I found the culture to be a unique combination of freedom and responsibility. Raj has instilled a relentless focus on building brands through fresh, unexpected and innovative ideas, which I find truly inspiring. Tired, old ideas don’t stand a chance here. And it reflects in the work. I hope to add to that culture in every which way I can.”
Creativeland also uses its 4,000 sq ft Kochi office as a creative and design R&D facility, CLA LABs, where new product, brand and business ideas are tested and researched upon. “Paul coming on board will also give CLA Labs a great momentum,” Kurup added.
Menacherry is a mechanical engineer by education, who began his career in advertising 15 years back. He has worked as Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi and Trikaya, and in various capacities at Euro, PSL McCann and TBWA. He has worked on brands such as Mahindra, Godrej, Tata Mutual Fund, TVS, Indigo Nation, Hindustan Times, BPL Mobile, and Gujarat Ambuja, among others.
He was one of the first people to have won a Clio from India. His work has been featured in the Archives, The Work, besides being recognised at various awards, including Clio, Cannes and London International.
Creativeland Asia handles national brands from South India based clients from Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi. Some of these brands include Café Coffee Day, Medimix Soaps, John Distilleries, Cuticura Soaps, etc.
