P R Satheesh has put in his papers after a year as Vice-President with Zee Sports and is set to join Tag Media as Chief Operating Officer. Satheesh would be steering Tag Media, MAA Group’s first-ever in-store television network in India, through its start-up phase. He is taking over his new responsibilities in early January 2007.
On his new job, Satheesh said, “I am looking forward to an exciting phase of building a team that will develop and create new vistas in this sunrise sector.”
Welcoming Satheesh, Bunty Peerbhoy, Chairman of the Maa Group, said, “We are very excited at having Satheesh join Tag. His rich and varied experience would be a great asset to us.”
Speaking about his stint with Zee Sports, Satheesh said, “I was part of the core team that handled sales and sponsorships. We successfully sold two cricket series, the Delhi and Mumbai Marathons (the on-air component), and brought in sponsors for new properties such as NASCAR and Indian football.”
His earlier appointments include setting up the advertising sales network for Deccan Chronicle in the West, launching and managing various editions of the Asian Age. He has also spent valuable time with the Zee Network as their South Head and then as their key Accounts Head at Mumbai. Satheesh is also actively associated with the Advertising Club, Bangalore, and is currently officiating as its Vice-President.
The Tag Media Network currently has a reach of over five million viewers through their tie-up with national supermarket chains such as Spencers, Foodworld and Fabmall.
