Omnicom appoints Serge Dumont as Senior VP and President, Asia Pacific

Omnicom Group Inc has announced the appointment of Serge Dumont as Senior Vice-president and President of Omnicom Asia-Pacific. He will be reporting directly to Michael Birkin, Vice-Chairman, Omnicom Group Inc and Chairman and CEO of Omnicom Asia-Pacific.

Dumont will help spearhead Omnicom’s strategic expansion in Asia, initially in Greater China, where he has built a highly distinguished career as a businessman and strategic communications professional.

Serge has a brilliant reputation, a proven track record and extensive experience in Asia. We see his appointment as a critical step in driving many of our strategic initiatives. Omnicom comprises the industry’s most award winning advertising brands – BBDO, DDB, and TBWA, specialist media-buying companies, OMD and PHD, and the Diversified Agency Services group (‘DAS’). Dumont, a French businessman with close ties to the US and Europe, has worked in Asia, especially China, for over 20 years, founding a strategic communications consultancy in the Asian giant, advising Fortune 500 clients.

Given his unique strategic communications background, Dumont has frequently been retained as a high-level advisor by governments and multilateral bodies such as the World Health Organization, the Beijing Municipal Government as well as the French government.
