Nitin Jain, VP Ad Sales, MTV Networks India, puts in his papers

After a year and a half with the organisation as Vice-President, Ad Sales, Nitin Jain has called is quits at MTV Networks India. The reason cited is that the shuttling between Delhi and Mumbai was taking a toll on Jain’s health as well as family life, leading to this decision. Jain is serving a three-month notice period, within which a replacement would be identified.

Announcing the development, Amit Jain, Managing Director, MTV Networks India, and Executive Vice-President, MTV Networks Asia, said, “Nitin’s passion for MTV Network brands helped keep the balance between professional and personal life. Given his personal circumstances, we understand and respect Nitin’s decision. He has contributed significantly to MTV Networks India over the last 18 months and his departure is surely our loss. With his drive for results and his ‘can do’ attitude, Nitin has injected the sales team with aggression and the passion for delivering on commitments.”

He further said, “Nitin would lead the search for his replacement and continue to be with MTV Networks India over the next few months.”

Jain had joined HTA (now JWT) in October 1988 in the media department and after six months moved to client servicing, where he spent four and a half years, and then in late 1992 he moved back to media and was in the WPP’s GroupM till April 2005.
