Nilanjana Purkayastha quits Sahara One as Business Head

Nilanjana Purkayastha has put in her papers as Business Head at Sahara One on December 1. It may be recalled that she had joined the channel only seven months’ back in May 2008. While confirming her movement, Purkayastha refused to divulge her next destination.

During her tenure at Sahara One, she was reporting to Seemanto Roy, Head, Sahara One Entertainment Business. Prior to this, Purkayastha was associated with NDTV Imagine. She had worked with Star Plus as Creative Director before joining NDTV Imagine in 2007.

In the past few months, Sahara One Media & Entertainment has witnessed quiet a few departures, starting with Sharmista Rijhwani, the then CEO, and Kalyan Sundaram, Head of Programming for the channel, both of whom had put in their papers around the same time. It was during that time that Purkayashtha had been roped in as Business head for Sahara One channel.
