NewsX beefs up top level with slew of new appointments

NewsX has announced key appointments in its leadership team. Post the acquisition by Indi Media Company Pvt Ltd, the news channel has been realigning and restructuring its business to strengthen its hold in the media industry. There have been several appointments at the channel in technical operations and editorial team.

Rahul Kulshreshtha has been appointed as Consultant for Technical Operations. An industry veteran, Kulshreshtha has worked with TV Today as Director Technology and Operations, and more recently as CEO of Triveni Media, which launched 24 hour news channel Voice of India.

Shamya DasGupta has been roped in as Sports Editor. He moves from Headlines Today where he was Sports Editor. DasGupta has earlier worked with the Indian Express, Tehelka, and ESPN.

Nitin Sukhija has joined the Mumbai bureau of the channel as Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor. His last assignment was with IBN 7 as Entertainment Editor.

Monica Malik moves in as Executive Producer, where she will be responsible for all news production and packaging. Her last assignment was at NDTV as Senior News Producer.

Sukarno Sen has been brought in as Bureau Chief in Kolkata. Prior to joining NewsX, Sen had worked with CNN-IBN, IBN7, Channel7 and Zee News.

In a prepared statement, the channel spokesperson said, “This is an important milestone for NewsX, wherein we have bought some key people on board, revamped our content and extended our distribution network. At NewsX, it’s our continuous endeavour to deliver news and programmes that are informative, engaging and timely. The recent hirings will give a strong leadership to the team, which is already making a difference to the way we have been bringing news to our audience.”

These appointments come close on the heels of the recent leadership hiring that the channel did for Head of Strategy & Planning, Mumbai Bureau Chief and Head of Special Investigations.
