New: Rajesh Mathew quits Rediffusion DY&R, joins Contract Chennai as VP

Rajesh Mathew has joined Contract Chennai as Vice-president and Branch Manager. He replaces Bimal Nair who recently quit Contract and joined as Executive Vice-president, Rediffusion DY&R, Mumbai. He moves from Rediffusion DY&R, Chennai where he was looking after the agency’s Chennai operations and was also General Manager of Wunderman, Chennai.

Mathew, who was with an agency in Muscat called Concept, shifted back to India in November 2006 and joined Wunderman, Chennai. During his tenure with Wunderman, he won several businesses for the agency.

Confirming Mathew’s appointment, M S Balaji, Contract’s Executive Vice-president, South India, said, “Rajesh joins us with a proven track record of backing strong creative ideas and building business.”

Mathew has over 12 years of experience in advertising. He started his career with MAA Bozell, Bangalore, and later moved to Saatchi & Saatchi Direct. The other agencies he has worked with are O&M, Bangalore, and Lowe, Chennai. Some of the brands he has worked on during his career include SSD Sunflower Oil, Wipro, Hewlett-Packard, Infosys, Green Label, Grundfos and Citibank.
