NEW Radio Mirchi makes top-level changes; Prashant Panday is Deputy CEO

To implement its expansion plans, Radio Mirchi has made quite a few changes in its top management. Prashant Panday, who was COO, Entertainment Networks (ENIL), has been elevated as Deputy CEO, Radio Mirchi, effective August 3, 2005. Sharath Chandra, Head-Marketing, Tapas Sen, Head-Programming, Nandan Srinath, Regional Director-North, and Sameer Soni, Regional Director-West, have been promoted as Executive Vice-Presidents.

Also, Harvinderjit Bhatia, Financial Controller, ENIL/TIML, has been promoted as Chief Financial Officer. He will continue to report to A. P. Parigi, MD & CEO, ENIL/TIML.

Said Parigi, “The announcement made yesterday relating to the senior managers of Radio Mirchi reflects the contribution and the high level of performance of these individuals. Late last year 2004, when we as a company were looking at the next level of growth, we had structured the organisation on a regional basis.” He added, “It is our belief that this new structure and new wave of leadership will lay the foundation to nurture and sustain our growth plans.”

On Panday being made Deputy CEO, Parigi commented, “Prashant has been with me since the start-up phase of Radio Mirchi. He has consistently displayed leadership qualities and has a great understanding of the media space, particularly FM radio. In his new capacity, he will be responsible not only for sales/marketing and operations but also programming and roll-out of Phase II.”

Besides these changes, the prestigious internal award of Radio Mirchi – Trailblazer 2005 Award -- has been bagged by Anil Fernandes, VP, Legal and Company Secretary. This award is given to a top performer in the top management.
