Publicitas Promotion Network (PPN), a division of PubliGroupe, along with its partner in India, Mediascope Publicitas, has announced the appointment of Neville Taraporewalla as CEO for a new media entity that will be set up shortly. PPN is a marketing and sales organisation for media advertising.
Taraporewalla will also hold the post of Online Media Director for the Asia-Pacific region comprising India, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and China.
Expressing their delight in a joint statement, Moritz Wuttke, CEO, Asia-Pacific, PPN, and Marzban Patel, CEO and MD, Mediascope Publicitas, India, said, “As more and more advertisers need support for planning and deciding the right media mix strategy, it is essential to supply them with expertise from the old and the new world.”
Taraporewalla will be responsible for setting up the online operations in India to specifically promote online advertising for publishers in India and abroad, and in the fast developing mobile space. He will also manage the APAC responsibilities for online media sales for all PPN country organisations.
Said Taraporewalla, “The digital landscape is going through enormous changes in India, with media consumption patterns set to alter in the next 12-18 months. Marketers across the board need qualified advice and clear audience segmentation for their monies to work better, using digital initiatives like online content sites and mobile, which jointly deliver to an audience which no medium can match in India.”
Taraporewalla was earlier Country General Manager of Yahoo! in India, after which he joined ConnecTurf as MD and CEO. He left ConnecTurf earlier this month after a short stint of four months.
Taraporewalla has also worked with publishing houses like The Times of India Group, Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd and also overseas with Khaleej Times. He was the Co-founder of Internet and Mobile Association of India and immediate past Chairman of the body.
