Neville Taraporewalla joins Connecturf as MD and CEO

Ex-Yahoo! India Country General Manager, Neville Taraporewalla, has joined Connecturf, a web solutions and digital marketing company, as Managing Director and CEO. The current CEO, V Ramani, will now function as Vice-chairman of the group.

A statement from the company said that Taraporewalla would consolidate and further build on Connecturf’s leadership position in the interactive landscape. He would be responsible for the overall profitability of the group through its business units Mediaturf, Knowledgeturf and Solutionturf.

Neville has spent 10 of his 20 years in media in the Internet and New Media space and has been associated with the Times of India Group’s Internet foray as well as Mid Day Multimedia’s digital and mobile initiatives in the past. He was also the co-founder and immediate past Chairman of Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

“With Neville on board, in partnership with Ramani, we have undoubtedly the best top management team in this space. Neville’s track record in building teams for client servicing and solutions delivery will give our existing and new clients the cutting edge leadership they are looking for in the new media world,” said Ishan Raina, Chairman of Connecturf.

“Neville is a friend whom I have worked with for many years and respect. I look forward to partnering with him in creating a renewed focus on cutting edge creative and technology solutions for all our clients,” said Ramani.

Commenting on his new assignment, Taraporewalla said, “Connecturf has been a leader in the digital marketing and solutions space since 2000. Ramani and his team have built a brand over several years that is synonymous with digital media in India. I am excited to lead the charge from the front in this rapidly growing space in the coming years.”

“Internet advertising industry in India is growing exponentially and with new technology, advertising to consumers on the Internet, mobile and other devices are posing enormous challenges to marketers. The combined experience of Ramani and myself in the digital media space will not only provide leadership to a young team, but we will have the best of breed talent at Connecturf,” he further said.

Speaking about his vision for the company, Taraporewalla said, “Customer delight and innovative solutions’ will be our motto. Simultaneously, we will work and partner with all the leading portals and digital publishers and assist them in building their advertising businesses.”
