N P Sathyamurthy of MRUC to join Carat as Chief Planning Officer

Carat Media has added a new member to its top management. The agency has roped in Media Research Users Council (MRUC) Director General, N P Sathyamurthy, to head the national planning function as Chief Planning Officer. For Sathyamurthy, this would be a return to the media fraternity.

Confirming the development, Charles Berley Jenarius, Group CEO, Carat Media, said, “Sathya comes in with excellent credentials, having spent five years with Heinz, both in Sales and Marketing as well as in Brand Management, ten years in media planning with agencies like Mudra, O&M and Euro RSCG, and the last couple of years in media research management as Director General of MRUC. He is well clued into the changes that are taking place on the Indian media scene and will be a great asset to the agency.”

Jenarius further informed that Sathyamurthy would be taking up his new assignment as soon as he completes his handover at MRUC. In his assignments over the years, he has been associated with brands like Hindustan Lever, Philips, Microsoft, Intel, Nokia, Gillette, American Express, Castrol, Prudential ICICI, HDFC, Asian Paints, Castrol, Vimal, Rasna and Dhara amongst others.

In addition to his MRUC experience, Satyamurthy has been responsible for syndicated research products like the Indian Research Survey (IRS), Indian Listenership Track (ILT) and the new Consumer Classification System.
