Mudra Delhi appoints Krishnaraj Bhat as Group Director, Brand Communications

Krishnaraj Bhat has joined Mudra Delhi as Group Director, Brand Communications. Bhat moves from Reliance Industries, where he was Deputy General Manager-Marketing with the Group’s Textile Division. He was involved with strategic brand management, marketing communication and publicity.

This is Bhat’s third stint with the agency. He had begun his career with Mudra Communications, Ahmedabad, as Account Executive in 1997 and had moved up the ladder to become Account Supervisor in March 2001. Some of the categories he had worked on included low calorie sugar substitutes, online matrimonial portals, broadband services, e-governance, and telecommunications, among others.

Sanjay Sharma, Executive Vice President, Mudra North and East, said, “Krishnaraj brings with him an industry experience of over 11 years. His business acumen and knowledge will be an asset to the team.”

Commenting on new assignment, Bhat said, “It’s a great feeling to be back in the place where you have grown up. And the opportunity of working with Sandeep (Vij) was too good to pass. My task would be to make account planning the driver of media-neutral ideas to springboard richer consumer engagement.”

Bhat, an alumni of MICA, joined Bates India, Kolkata, in April 2001, where he was involved with developing business leads and planning for new businesses. Some of the projects that had resulted in new businesses, included Shalimar Paints and Amul Hosiery.

He returned to Mudra for another stint from June 2002 to February 2006 as Director-Brand Communications (Planning). He was responsible for suggesting marketing solutions to clients, apart from communication ideas for their brand and providing the ‘springboard’ for the creative team to produce effective communication solutions.

He then had a 10-month stint with McCann Erickson Malaysia (March-December, 2006), where he was responsible for creating plan communication strategies for brands and brand strategies in their markets and also was custodian of the strategic planning culture building process.

During his career Bhat has worked on brands such as Paras Pharmaceuticals, Reliance Industries Ltd, Rasna Industries Ltd, Nestle Products, Coca-Cola, and DiGi Telecommunications, among others.
