MSN India appoints Satya Raghavan as Marketing Head for India

MSN India has recently appointed Satya Raghavan as Head - Consumer Marketing. This is a newly created role and Raghavan will be responsible for the marketing and PR of the brand portfolio of products. He will be reporting to Jaspreet Bindra, Country Head, MSN India and Windows Live. He moves on to MSN India from STAR India where he was VP Marketing for the portfolio of six STAR televisions channels.

Speaking on Raghavan’s appointment, Bindra said, “Satya’s main focus is to market our brands to the burgeoning Internet consumer base in India. We have reached a tipping point in India as far as Internet usage is concerned and it is vital to get our brands to resonate with them.”

Commenting on the new assignment, Raghavan said, “Brands like Hotmail, MSN, and Windows Live Messenger are the preferred brands of the evolving Indian Internet user. It’s a great time to be working with brands like these – full of challenges and opportunities.”

Raghavan has been working in marketing and sales across FMCG, media and IT industries. Prior to STAR India, he had been Brand Manager for Pillsbury while his sales experience was with Coca-Cola. Raghavan has completed his MBA from IIM Lucknow. He also has a degree in computer engineering
