MRUC appoints Shaswati Saradar as Director General

Following the exit of Joseph Eapen as the CEO of Media Research User’s Council (MRUC), the Council has appointed Shaswati Saradar as Director General. Saradar took charge on January 3, 2011.

As is known, MRUC’s senior management had seen a change last month, when Eapen, who had joined in April 2010 as CEO, had exited the Council.

Saradar has been associated with various sides of the Indian media and advertising industry. Her initial experience has been with companies such as McCann Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather.

In January 2002, she moved to the client side when she joined Maruti Suzuki and was there till August of 2008. Saradar then came to the media owner side of the business, as she joined Zee for a stint as Head of Marketing in Europe and Russia, where she worked with October of 2009.
