Mridul Srivastava appointed senior country manager of Tegic Communications

Mridul Srivastava has been appointed as the senior country manager of Tegic Communications, a wholly-owned subsidiary of America Online, Inc. and leading provider of predictive text input software to manufacturers. The company has also announced that it is setting up its operations in Bangalore to serve the fast growing mobile market.

The new Bangalore office will offer customer support to mobile operators, domestic handset manufacturers and multinational OEMs with offices in India. The Bangalore office joins Asia offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo.

Mridul Srivastava will manage Tegic's new Bangalore office, serving as India 's first senior country manager, overseeing all marketing and business development activities in the region. Srivastava previously served as marketing manager with Tata Teleservices (Tata Indicom) in Karnataka, responsible for strategic planning, product management, new product launches and value-added services for mobile and fixed-line products.

"We are pleased to have Mridul join Tegic in such an important capacity," said Ray Tsuchiyama, Director - Asia-Pacific, Tegic Communications. "Like Mainland China several years ago, India is beginning to experience rapid growth in the wireless market. By opening a Bangalore office and adding a seasoned veteran to manage the operations of this office, we are well-positioned to meet the current and future needs of India's ever-growing mobile marketplace," he added.
