UTV New Media Ltd has beefed up its senior team with two appointments. Zaki Ansari has been appointed as Chief Product and Technology Officer, while Subhash R Ghosh comes in as Vice President – Mobile. Both will be reporting to Manish Agarwal, CEO, UTV New Media.

Zaki Ansari will be responsible for building and growing online destinations for entertainment and information. He has nearly 20 years of experience. His previous stint was with Rediff.com as Vice President – Product Development, where he had been for the last 14 years. Prior to that, his experience was mainly in journalism with newspapers like The Daily, Mid-Day and The Sunday Observer.

On his appointment, Ansari said, “UTV does its best in whatever it lays its hands on. Keeping in mind its recent emphasis on the Internet medium, I am glad to be a part of this organisation. I am sure that my experience will be useful to the New Media team. I am looking forward to an enriching experience working with UTV.”

Subhash R Ghosh will take over the responsibility of increasing partnership with operators and platform players to drive revenues. Prior to joining UTV New Media, Ghosh was working with a US-based start-up, EnvIO Networks Inc, as Senior Director for India & APAC markets. In the past, he has worked with brands like BPL Mobile, GTL, VSNL, R-Comm, Rediff.Com and Buongiorno. He has been a part of the telecom industry for the past 15 years and is an expert in sales and marketing as well as product management.

On his new role, Ghosh said, “Having worked in various domains of telecom such as revenue driven profiles – enterprise network solutions and design, international connectivity in addition to the content and application sides of mobile VAS, my extensive association with this industry will bring forth a different perspective to the New Media business at UTV. I look forward to working with this talented team.”
