R Chandramouli has come on board Reva Electric Car Company (RECC) as President, Sales and Marketing. He will be responsible for strengthening brand building, marketing, sales and distribution for RECC in India and non-European markets. Chandramouli moves from TVS Motor Company, where he was Senior Vice President.

Chetan Maini, Deputy Chairman and CTO, RECC, said, “We see significant growth potential for Reva Electric Car Company in India and overseas in the next three years. Chandramouli’s experience in the automotive industry will strengthen our growth and expansion plans in India and the overseas markets other than Europe.”

On his new assignment, Chandramouli said, “Electric cars hold a bright future as a cool, cost effective and eco-friendly option for city commuters. Exciting times are ahead for Reva, which has been pioneering innovation in zero emission vehicles.”

Chandramouli comes to RECC with over 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing, and brand building in the automotive industry. He began his career with Escorts Ltd, before joining TVS Motor Company in 1988. He was associated with TVS Motor Company for nearly 20 years.

Chandramouli was closely involved with two key the brands of TVS Motor Company – TVS Scooty, India’s first automatic scooter for women, and TVS Victor, India’s first indigenously developed motorcycle. He helped position TVS Scooty as the ‘First Love’ of college girls in urban India, and built the TVS Victor brand in India.

Besides helping build a large network of 600 dealers and 2,000 service centres across India, Chandramouli was also closely involved in managing the transition of TVS-Suzuki Ltd, a joint venture of Suzuki Japan and TVS Motor Company.
