Karl Gomes has been appointed as Executive Creative Director-Digital with Arc Worldwide. He moves from Tribal DDB, where he was National Creative Director. At Arc Worldwide, Gomes’ mandate includes leveraging the Web 2.0 phenomenon in the country.

Speaking on his appointment, CVS Sharma (Venke), Head of Arc Worldwide, commented, “In Karl, we found a creative mind, very passionate about this medium with a truck load of ideas to fire it up. His mandate will be to leverage Web 2.0 with some big campaignable interactive ideas for our clients.”

Gomes said, “The digital media is a lot more than just a website and a media campaign. Today clients are a lot more excited about interactive than maybe at any point before. They're finally starting to see the promise of the Internet and just how powerful an advertising medium it is. I've found Arc’s concept of ‘media-neutral ideas’ particularly fascinating and see great scope to integrate these media neutral ideas with the digital medium where Indian audiences have started sharing content, opinions, insights, experiences, perspectives, and media."

Gomes has been associated with the digital media space for the last eight years. His work has won numerous awards, including Asia Pacific Adfest, Abbys, AAAIs, Webbys and finalist at New York Festivals, One Show and Cannes.

Arc Worldwide is a marketing services agency aligned with Publicis-owned Leo Burnett. Arc provides marketing services spanning interactive, out of home, shopper marketing, events and promotions.
