Starcom is witnessing an upheaval in its top management. After Starcom Managing Director, Anita Nayar’s, exit from the agency, two more senior people have quit. These include Ravi Negi and Arun Kumar Soni. Meanwhile, more people are likely to quit from the creative department.
It may be noted that Ravi Negi was made the Acting Head of Starcom Delhi following Nayar’s departure in December 2006. Arun Kumar Soni was the Operations Head. Senior sources close to the developments have confirmed the news.
Negi has worked in Starcom Delhi for close to four years. He was Media Director prior to being made the Acting Head of Delhi. He has handled brands like Sony Electronics, Honda cars, Atlas cycles, Voltas, Radico Khaitan, and 8pm Whisky, among others. He was also responsible for new business development for Delhi and was also helping Bangladesh and Pakistan offices in training tools and media planning.
Negi began his career in MediaCom in August 1999, where he had handling brands like GlaxoSmithline, SBI credit cards, Oracle as well as the campaigns for two of India’s major political parties – the Congress and the BJP.
Soni was an old hand at Starcom, spending 23 years there. Prior to that, he had worked in Jaisons, a Mumbai-based advertising agency. He had worked in Oriental Publicity for one year. He began his career with Aden Vois, a Delhi-based advertising and marketing company.
