Mohit Hira appointed Indiatimes Head of Marketing

Mohit Hira, who was heading brand development for The Economic Times and Navbharat Times, was appointed as Indiatimes Vice-President, Marketing, about two weeks ago.

Confirming the appointment, Mahendra Swarup, CEO, Times Internet Ltd, said, “Mohit’s role at Indiatimes will be exciting. He will be heading the advertising and marketing initiatives across all channels of Indiatimes and also the Net Carrot loyalty programme.”

Net Carrot was a programme by which a person automatically collected ‘carrots’ every time he bid and won in Indiatimes auctions, Swaroop explained.

Before joining the Times Group at the beginning of 2004, Hira was Senior VP, Contract Advertising, Delhi. He was with Contract for 16 years. He had started his advertising career as a copywriter with Contract’s Kolkata office in 1986.

He spent a year (1998-99) with DDB Needham in Muscat, but returned in June 1999 to take charge of Contract’s Kolkata branch. In 2001, he moved to Contract Delhi as Branch Head.
