Mindshare’s Subbu joins BCCL’s Times Private Treaties as GM

Subramanian Swaminathan (popularly known as Subbu in the industry) has moved on from Mindshare. He has joined BCCL’s Times Private Treaties as General Manager and will be looking after Tamil Nadu and Kerala markets. He will be based in Chennai. Swaminathan had spent close to six years with Mindshare, which has seen a fantastic run in the South. At Mindshare, he was GM for Bangalore and Chennai.

On his move, Swaminathan said, “Working at Mindshare has been a very fulfilling experience and I am happy to leave the agency on a positive note with the well wishes of my colleagues and seniors. I can confidently say that Mindshare is the best agency to work for. In fact, it has the lowest attrition rate as compared to any other agency in the industry.”

On his new role, he added, “Times Private Treaties gave me an opportunity to do something which I have wanted to do for long, hence difficult as it may be, but I had to move. My new role gives me an opportunity to work on brand communication, brand planning and equity funding. This is a great combination in terms of work opportunity and something that I have wanted to do.”

Swaminathan has been instrumental in the phenomenal growth of Mindshare in the South and garnering significant market share. He has also played a key role in the geographical expansion of Mindshare in Hyderabad, Cochin and Coimbatore. Some of the key businesses that he has worked on in Chennai and Bangalore include Ford, Sun Direct, Venus Water Heaters, Viveks’, UB Group, IBM, Lenovo, Nike, Bosch, Lifestyle and Yahoo!, among others.

Incidentally, CVL Srinivas, who was earlier CEO of Asia Pacific at Maxus, is also now with Times Private Treaties. For the record, Times Private Treaties leverages the experience and wide reach of The Times Group to create value for its Private Treaties clients through strategic partnerships.
