Meritus strengthens presence in Asia, appoints Deena Lawrence as partner based in Singapore

Meritus Analytics, a WPP data analytics consultancy company, has appointed Deena Lawrence as partner based in Singapore and George Yang Yong as associate partner in Beijing. The move is towards strengthening Meritus’ presence in the Asian region.

Commenting on Lawrence’s appointment, V Balasubramanium, CEO, Meritus, said, “Though launched in 2006, Meritus, in a short span of time, is gaining many global assignments in the areas of relationship management analytics, marketing ROI and database management in retail, telecom, banks and consumer packaged goods companies.”

He further said, “Her (Lawrence) presence will help us not only to enhance our service levels for these assignments but also help us implement our aggressive business growth plan for the current year. She comes with solid and progressive 16-plus years’ experience in the building, implementation and management of marketing programmes and business development strategies across diverse industry concerns and markets, which is what we need at present. She will be based in Singapore, but it will be a global role.”

Lawrence was earlier with KPMG Japan, Sydney and USA. She has also worked with Britanica International, Japan, Daymon Worldwide, Asia Pacific and USA, and Intertouch Pte Ltd, Singapore and Malaysia. She has earlier worked in customer management consulting practice as well as mainline marketing functions.

George Yang Yong’s previous assignment was with CITIC 21 CN, a Hong Kong listed company, wherein he functioned as Director Marketing and Sales - Global Business. He had also worked in the product management functions of Dell Co Ltd, Microsoft Corporation and Apple Computers in China and Canada. Yong will be based in Beijing.

Commenting on Yong’s appointment, Balasubramanium said, “Meritus was launched in China in July 2006 and we got great acceptance of our offers by many companies there. One of our strategies is to focus more on China in 2007. I am sure with George’s rich experience in technology marketing, he will be able to help Meritus achieve its future plans in China.”
